Purpose
"To enhance the musical experience within the church universal, with excellence and enthusiasm, by profoundly expressing God's Word in the contemporary choral setting."
Performances
Our desire is to encourage, uplift and enrich our audiences through choral music. The choir has captured the hearts of the communities it serves and is known for it's unique enthusiasm, dedication to performance excellence and enlightening performance personality.
Repertoire
The Central Texas Master Singers blends a classical sound with modern day vocal diction to articulate both the musical and scripted message. The choir primarily performs contemporary works of varying styles written and orchestrated by modern composers such as Mark Hayes, David T. Clydesdale, Mary McDonald, Pepper Choplin, Glenn Pickett, Tom Fettke, Cindy Berry, Russell Maulden, Joel Raney, and many more. As new anthems are produced, the choir's repertoire remains flexible, demanding and fresh.
Community Focus
The community focus of the Central Texas Master Singers is to raise awareness of quality of choral music and honor God in the music making process. Occasionally, the Central Texas Master Singers will accept invitations to perform benefit concerts to help fund the needs of other faith-based community organizations. Since it's inception on April 23, 2009, the Central Texas Master Singers has performed for the benefit of Helping Hands Ministry of Belton, Project Apple Tree, Hope Pregnancy Centers, Inc., Patriot Kids Ministries, Belton Christian Youth Center, Fort Hood Area Habitat for Humanity, Heroes Night Out, First Baptist Church of Temple, Texas after the tragic loss of its worship center due to fire, and most recently for the benefit of Sandy Hook Elementary School victims in Newtown, Connecticut.
The Choir, Expectations & Commitment
The choir is made up of Christian singers
of varying musical backgrounds and primarily performs piano accompanied
music and some acapella forms. At Christmas, the choir performs fully
orchestrated concerts as well. Singers are from all faiths,
denominations and belief systems of the Christian mindset.
Participating with the Central Texas Master Singers requires an
extraordinary level of commitment. The choir performs fully memorized,
maintains a rigorous performance schedule, rehearses weekly and pursues
excellence in sound and musicianship. Singers are expected to attend all
rehearsals with consistency and perform in all scheduled performances.
Rehearsals
Rehearsals are held at the First Baptist Church of Belton, TX in the
Choir Rehearsal Room on Monday evenings from 7 PM to 9 PM. Singers are
expected to make rehearsals with consistency. Singers are expected to
self study from home as needed to accomplish mastery as music is
performed from memory. Request an audition and/or come join the fun and
excitement!
All rehearsals are open to the public for a musical listening
